Data Privacy Statement of the FIPP company
Thank you for your interest and for visiting our FIPP website. Protection of your personal data at every stage of this relationship is extremely important to us at FIPP. In the following, we shall therefore explain which of the data submitted during your visit will be used for which purpose.
Within the context of the General Data Protection Regulation, personal data are defined as all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (referred to below as the "data subject"). This includes your name, for example, or your address and email address.

3. Informational use of our website
If you are using our website purely for informational purposes, i.e neither sending us any personal data via our contact form nor providing information through other channels, we will only collect the personal data transmitted from your browser to our server. The following data will thus be collected:

These data are required for technical reasons so that the website can be displayed to you and to ensure its safety. None of these data are stored together with any other data held about the user. Moreover, such data are deleted following their analysis.
The legal basis for the temporary storage of such data derives from our legitimate interest in the safety and stability of our website, this pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. The interests of the user are upheld as these data are not used for identification purposes.
4. Use of ‘Cookies’:
When you visit our website, cookies are stored on your computer. Legal basis and storage period
The legal basis for any processing of personal data which may occur or for their storage period varies as defined in the following sections.
When you connect with us by email or via our contact form, the data you submit (your email address, and, if required, your name and telephone number) are stored so that we can answer your questions and enquiries. Any information that we request in our contact form which is not essential for contact to be established is always indicated as optional. Transmission of such data is always conducted in non-encrypted form. These details enable us to concretise your request and thus to process it with greater precision. If you wish FIPP to to send any informational material, we require your postal address. When providing such details, you do so expressly on a voluntary basis and grant your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a), GDPR. Insofar as such data refer to communication channels (e.g. your email address or telephone number), you additionally agree and consent that, if required, FIPP may contact you via these communication channels so as to answer your request. You are, of course, entitled to revoke this consent at any time with future effect. This is possible by sending us a message via the contact data set out in Section 1.
We erase any data collected in this connection as soon as their storage is no longer necessary, or restrict processing thereof in compliance with legal or regulatory retention obligations.
6. Job application procedure
You may apply for employment at FIPP by electronic means via email. The details you submit to us will, of course, be used exclusively to process your application and not transferred to any third party. Please note that emails sent in non-encrypted form are not access-protected.
If you apply for a specific position which has already been filled, or we consider you to be equally, if not better suited for another position, we would gladly pass on your application within the company. Please notify us if you do not wish your data to be distributed in this way.
On conclusion of the application procedure, your personal data will either be erased immediately, or after six months at the latest, unless you have expressly consented to our storing your data for a longer period, or a contract of employment has been concluded. You are neither legally nor contractually obliged to place your data at our disposal. However, these data are required for the decision to be made regarding your application. Without such details the application procedure cannot be conducted nor the possibility of employment considered.
The legal basis in such cases is pursuant to Art.6 (1) (a) and (b) GDPR and § 26 BDSG (The German Federal Data Protection Act).
7. Website analysis
For purposes of analysis and the optimisation of our website, we utilise the various services described in the following. In this way we can, for example, analyse how many users are visiting our website, which information is being requested the most, or how users are locating our offer. The data we collect include those that determine from which website the data subject has reached our website (a so-called "referrer"), which sub-pages of the website have been called up and how often or for how long a sub-page has been viewed. This helps us to improve our offer and thus increase its user friendliness. The data collected in this manner are not used to identify an individual user personally. Only anonymous, at the most pseudonymous data are collected. The legal basis in such cases is pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR.
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc, (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). Usage comprises the operating mode Universal Analytics. Across multiple devices this enables data, computer sessions and interactions to be assigned to a pseudonymous user-ID and, also across several devices, a user's activities thus to be analysed.

8. Google Tag Manager
Please note that, in the interests of transparency , we use Google Tag Manager. Although Google Tag Manager itself does not collect any personal data, it simplifies our task of integrating and administering tags. Tags are small code elements whose purposeit it is to gauge traffic and user behaviour, to record the effects of online advertising and the social channels, to manage remarketing activities and orientation towards target groups, as well as to test and optimise webpages. We use Tag Manager for the analysis tools indicated above. If you decide on deactivation, this is taken into account by Google Tag Manager. You have the right to demand information, rectification, deletion, limitation of processing, and data portability, as well as to object against processing. Insofar as data is being processed with your express consent, you may assert your right against us for revocation of such data with effect for the future.
Rights affecting data processing in response to legitimate requests
In accordance with Article 21(1) GDPR you have the right at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to object to the processing of personal data concerning you which has occurred pursuant to Article 6 (1) (e) GDPR (processing necessary in the public interest) or to Article 6 (1)(f) GDPR (processing for the purposes of legitimate interests), this also applying to any profiling based on these provisions. Should you lodge an objection, we shall no longer process any personal data concerning you unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for their processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Right to object to processing for direct marketing purposes
Insofar as we are processing your personal data for direct marketing purposes, you have the right pursuant to Article 21(2) GDPR to object at any time to the processing for such purposes of personal data concerning you, this including profiling to the extent that it is related to such direct marketing.
Should you lodge an objection against your data being processed for direct marketing purposes, we shall discontinue the processing, for such purposes, of any personal data concerning you.
Right of appeal to a supervisory authority
Furthermore, you are entitled to appeal before a competent data protection authority should you be of the opinion that our processing of personal data concerning you is in infringement of data privacy regulations.
